There are a number of volunteer opportunities for CPA graduates. Below are a few of the current needs for volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact the individual listed in the post below and complete the City of Springfield Volunteer Forms (see links below). This page will continue to be updated as volunteer opportunities arise.

Fred Meyer Rewards:
One funding source for helping the Springfield Citizen Police Academy support SPD and community events comes from the Fred Meyer Community Rewards program. We are always on the search for individuals who weren’t aware they could support SCPAAA through the Fred Meyer program. If you’d like to help educate community members on how they can help SCPAAA through this program, contact Board Member Stacey Doll.

SCPAAA Newsletters:
Springfield Citizen Police Academy published a quarterly newsletter from 2009-2011. SCPAAA is currently working to re-invigorate this effort and looks forward to re-introducing this communication tool in the near future. If you have an interest in helping to compile, author and/or distribute the SCPAAA newsletter, contact Board Member Christina Cox.

Open House:
Each fall, Springfield Police Department hosts an Open House, inviting the community to tour the facilities, checkout the police vehicles, visit with department staff, see a K-9 demonstration and more. This event requires a lot of people to help facilitate all of the logistics of bringing in lots of visitors at once. If you’d like to help with the event, contact Wendy Polen at 541.726.3729.
